Man found shot in Llangollen charged over weapon

A man found with a shotgun wound in Llangollen last month has been charged with possessing a prohibited weapon and perverting the course of justice.

Philip Morris, 46, of Clawdd Poncen near Corwen, suffered serious injuries and had surgery following the incident in Llangollen, Denbighshire, on 19 May.

Mr Morris was arrested on Wednesday morning and has been remanded in custody.

He will appear before Prestatyn magistrates court on Thursday.

Det Insp Iestyn Davies said: "North Wales Police would like to stress that we are not looking for anyone in connection with this incident and would like to thank the residents of the Llangollen area for the assistance given during the investigation."
