Number caught speeding in Northern Ireland doubles
Police have said twice as many people as normal have been caught speeding on Northern Ireland's roads in recent weeks.
Two thousand six hundred people were caught breaking the speed limit in the first two weeks of June.
Twenty four people have died on NI's roads this year, half the number as the same time last year.
The PSNI said it will deploy extra officers to detect people driving illegally this summer.
Superintendent Muir Clark said: "Everyone must take into account increased traffic levels over the holiday period and heed the road safety message.
"All road users have a role to play in preventing deaths and injuries on our roads.
"All we ask is that drivers slow down, do not drive or ride a motorcycle after drinking or taking drugs, wear a seatbelt and drive with greater care and attention."
