RNLI lifeboat takes fire crew to Poole Harbour island

Firefighters had to enlist the help of the RNLI after a fire broke out on an island in Poole Harbour in Dorset.

Dorset Fire and Rescue was called on Thursday at about 1840 BST by a sailor who reported a fire on Pergin's Island in Holes Bay.

Coastguards called the Poole inshore lifeboat crew to ferry four firefighters to the island.

The fire, in an area of deep-seated peat, was put out by 2120 BST and the crew was returned to shore.
