Medical staff on a maternity ward in Greater Manchester have received threats that they would be shot.

Two men shouted abuse and implied they would produce a gun during a visit to the ward at Tameside General Hospital on Friday.

Police said nobody was injured but staff were left shaken by the threats carried out between 2330 and 0010 BST.

A 17-year-old youth and a 45-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of affray.

The two are being held in police custody for questioning.
