Man remanded on murder charge over 2005 riot stabbing

A 28-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murder after a stabbing during riots in Birmingham.

Isaiah Young-Sam, 23, suffered a wound to his chest during disorder in Lozells on 22 October 2005.

Mohammed Shazad, of Handsworth, Birmingham, who was also charged with wounding on the same evening, appeared before city magistrates.

He was remanded in custody to appear before Birmingham Crown Court on Tuesday.
