Roads closed after fire at Didsbury flats
A fire at a block of flats has led to a number of road closures in south Manchester.
The blaze broke out at the flats on the site of the former Withington Hospital on Nell Lane, Didsbury, at about 1550 BST, Greater Manchester Police said.
A cordon has been put in place and residents have been asked to leave their flats.
Nell Lane and Elizabeth Slinger Road have been closed while fire crews are at the scene.
Police said there was no access from Burton Road onto Nell Lane, from Princess Road onto Nell Lane and from Barlow Moor Road onto Elizabeth Slinger Road.
People living nearby are being told to use Cavendish Road to get to their homes and motorists are advised to seek alternative routes.
The flats also had to be evacuated in December after two gas explosions on the site.
