Nineteen arrested after police drug raids in New Forest
Nineteen people have been arrested following a series of dawn raids as part of a crackdown on suspected heroin and crack cocaine dealers.
About 250 police officers swooped on 19 properties in New Milton and other parts of the New Forest in Hampshire on Tuesday morning.
Thirteen men and six women, aged 21-55, are being questioned at police stations across the county.
Quantities of drugs were seized in the New Milton and Lymington areas.
Substances were also recovered from the village of Burley and Blackfield, a police spokesman said.
Chief Insp Gary Cooper, of Hampshire Constabulary, said: "Operation Mercury has been planned and investigated for the past eight to nine months.
"Drugs are still being seized and documented but more importantly, this is very much about being concerned with the supply of drugs."
