Travellers move onto Rugby School land

Travellers with about 10 caravans have moved onto land owned by a leading public school.

It is thought the group moved into a field close to Rugby School, in Warwickshire, last week.

A Warwickshire Police spokesman said he understood the school had applied for an injunction against the travellers.

The spokesman added that as the land was private, it was a matter for the school. The school has not commented on the situation.

A police statement said that police involvement in the mater would be to uphold the law and ensure there was no breach of the peace.
