Driver dead after County Durham road accident

A man has died after he lost control of his car on a County Durham road.

The accident happened close to Stockley Farm, Oakenshaw, near Crook, on Wednesday at about 1715 BST.

Police said the driver lost control of the car on a bend. The vehicle then travelled through a barbed wire fence and rolled into a field.

Officers said a number of people may have seen the accident and witnesses have been asked to come forward with information.
