Woman remanded in mother stabbing

A woman has been remanded in custody charged with attempting to murder her mother on Teesside.

Amanda Jackson was arrested on Wednesday after police were called to her home in Ingleby Close, Grangetown, Middlesbrough, on Wednesday.

Her 78-year-old mother is being treated at James Cook Hospital for stab wounds where she is said to be in a stable condition, police said.

The 46-year-old is due to appear before Teesside Crown Court on 6 July.
