Plea over postal worker assault in Wishaw

A 36-year-old postal worker needed hospital treatment for head injuries after being assaulted in his garden in North Lanarkshire.

The attack happened at about 0450 BST on Wednesday as the man left his home in Heathery Road, Craigneuk, Wishaw, to go to work.

The suspect then got into a Transit-style van which was driven from the scene, possibly by another man.

The victim is recovering after treatment at Wishaw General Hospital.

The suspect is described as a white male, aged between 20 and 35 years old, about 5ft 8in tall with a medium build.

He was dressed in blue jeans and jacket and wore a scarf over his face.

Police have appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
