The former boyfriend of missing Edinburgh bookkeeper Suzanne Pilley has made a second court appearance.

David Gilroy, 47, was released on bail last week after being charged with her murder and breach of the peace.

Mr Gilroy appeared in private at Edinburgh Sheriff Court for a judicial examination.

His solicitor said his client had made no plea or declaration and had been fully committed for trial. He will remain on bail.

It is understood that Mr Gilroy's wife, Andrea Gilroy, has been charged by police with attempting to pervert the course of justice.

Ms Pilley's body has not been found, but police believe her remains were disposed of in Argyll.

She was last seen arriving at her office in Edinburgh city centre on 4 May.

Police found CCTV footage of her outside her office on the morning she disappeared.
