Police hunting a man who abducted and sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl are trying to trace her missing mobile phone.

The schoolgirl had the black Nokia E63 when she was forced into a car in Dollar, Clackmannanshire, on 21 June.

She was then driven eight miles to a farm track off the B190 near Linn Mill and assaulted.

Her attacker is described as about 5ft 8in tall, in his mid-30s, with receding brown hair and bad skin.

The teenager was abducted at about 0820 BST while walking down High Street and Hillfoots Road in Dollar.

'Extensive search'

She was ordered out of the green car near Castlebridge Business Park and flagged down a passing motorist who raised the alarm.

Det Ch Insp Willie Cravens said: "The girl had the phone when she was forced into the car. It is unclear what happened to it during the incident and we are keen to trace this."

He appealed for anyone who may have found the phone or been offered it to come forward.

The officer added: "Extensive searches have been carried out of the area where she was forced into the car and the area where she was found."

On Monday, police officers questioned motorists and residents in the village a week on from the attack.

Central Scotland Police said they were following a number of lines of inquiry.
