Algae disrupts loch water sports

Water sports and other activities have been suspended on two lochs in North Lanarkshire after potentially-harmful blue green algae was detected.

Council officials took action after samples tested positive from the lochs in Strathclyde Country Park and Drumpellier Country Park.

Normal use of the lochs will only be allowed when water conditions have been back to normal for "some time".

People walking pets in both parks are advised to keep them out of the water.
