An inquest has heard how a man who was found on rocks in Jersey had died from a possible fall.

Alessandro Ferrero was found dead on rocks on 26 June between Ouaisne and Portelet.

The Deputy Viscount said a post mortem examination showed the 38-year-old's death had been caused by multiple injuries.

He said police found evidence of impact where the body could have hit the ground and a towel on the cliffs above.

Inspector Alan Williamson, of the States of Jersey police, said Mr Ferrero was found at 2025 BST and he suspected he had been dead for some time.

The court heard a man who had been kayaking in the afternoon had seen the man lying on the rocks and thought he was sunbathing.

The inquest continues.
