Aircraft bird strike injures pilot flying to Jersey
A pilot suffered facial injuries when a bird smashed the cockpit window of his plane about a mile from Jersey.
The pilot was the only person on board the light aircraft which was flying from Alderney to Jersey when the accident happened on Saturday.
A spokesman from Jersey Airport said the man, who has not been named, managed to land the aircraft safely.
The pilot was treated at the scene for lacerations caused by the broken windshield.
The Air Accident Investigation Branch and Jersey's director of civil aviation have both been advised of the incident.
