Woman, 65, suffers Lincoln sexual attack

A 65-year-old woman suffered a serious sexual assault as she walked in Lincolnshire, police have revealed.

The woman was attacked in Bracebridge Heath in Lincoln as she walked along Viking Way on 30 June.

Officers said the woman suffered a "serious sexual assault" and urged dog walkers who may have been in the area to come forward.

Officers have questioned a man and released him on bail.

Det Insp Suzanne Davies, of Lincolnshire Police, said: "The Viking Way at Bracebridge Heath is a popular area for dog walkers.

"I am appealing for members of the public who were in the area from 1800 BST to 2000 BST on Wednesday 30 June, to come forward.

"They may think that that they have nothing useful to report, but it is important for us to speak to everyone that was in the area at the time.

"I would like to reassure the public this is a very unusual type of offence and that we have increased foot patrols in the area to ensure the area is safe for everyone to use".
