A petrol bomb has been thrown at an Orange hall in Rasharkin sometime between Monday night and Tuesday.

Scorch damage was caused to the front door. Anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area is asked to contact police.

Ballymoney DUP councillor John Finlay said: "This sectarian violence and trouble has gone on long enough and it must end.

"I call upon Sinn Fein to do more and step up when it comes to these attacks.

"We cannot let this escalate into the summer months," he said.

"I view this attack as part of a concerted effort on the part of Republicans against the Protestant community in Rasharkin.

"Many of these Protestant residents live in fear of violence and attacks from Republican elements. This cannot continue."

In a separate incident, a petrol bomb was thrown at an Orange Hall in Glarryford, County Antrim.

Scorch damage to the wall of the hall at Duneany Road was discovered on Tuesday morning.
