Men hurt jumping from London window in immigration raid
Two men have been taken to hospital after jumping out of a window during a raid by immigration officials.
UK Border Agency staff with police searched a home in Balham High Road, south London, at about 0600 BST.
Two men leapt out of a window onto the roof of a three-storey building, leaving them with minor injuries.
Three Pakistani nationals were arrested on suspicion of overstaying their visas and one on suspicion of illegally entering Britain.
Firefighters were called to help get the men off the roof and the busy commuter road was shut for more than an hour.
A UK Border Agency spokeswoman said: "During a UK Border Agency enforcement operation on Balham High Road this morning two individuals attempted to escape and suffered minor injuries.
A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the two patients were taken to St George's Hospital in Tooting.
