Lorry fire closes part of M60 motorway

Part of the M60 motorway has been closed after a lorry caught fire and spilt diesel across the carriageway.

All four lanes of the clockwise carriageway were closed at junction 13, for Worsley, from 1600 BST, the Highways Agency said.

It has caused long delays on the M60 and surrounding motorways. Traffic has been queuing back to junction five of the M60, for Princess Parkway.

The Highways Agency said they hoped to reopen the carriageway by 1900 BST.

They expected it to take an hour-and-a-half for all the queues to clear.
