Fall in drink drive figures in Cambridgeshire

The number of people caught drink-driving over the summer in Cambridgeshire has fallen slightly, new figures show.

Cambridgeshire Police said during its campaign in June 105 people were arrested, compared to 113 arrests the previous year.

Pc Tony Barrios said he was pleased to see less people disobeying the law on drink-driving.

But he was concerned people were still driving after drinking too much.

"Those motorists who continue to break the law may think they are safe to drive, but they are mistaken," he said.

"Each time someone gets behind the wheel and drive under the influence they are not only risking their own life but also the lives of others."
