Inquiry launched into Didcot flat fire

An investigation has been launched into a fire which started at a flat in Didcot, Oxfordshire.

Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service were called to All Saints Court just before 0500 BST.

People living in three of the single storey apartments were asked to leave their homes.

The blaze is believed to have started in a car port, which spread to the roof of one of the flats.

Station Manager Bob Speakman, from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue, said: "It was a fairly serious fire.

"The gentlemen was very fortunate in that we've been able to prevent the fire spreading, so his flat is largely undamaged."
