Cumbrian PCSO indicates guilt over indecent images

A police community support officer in Cumbria has appeared in court charged with downloading indecent images of children.

James Allan, of Blackburn Street, Workington, is charged with 14 offences of making indecent images of children and one of possessing extreme pornography.

Defence solicitor Geoff Lockerbie indicated Allan would plead guilty to the charges at a hearing at Carlisle Magistrates' Court.

He was bailed and is due to be sentenced at the city's crown court on 6 August.

A Cumbria Police spokeswoman said Allan, who was suspended from his post on 3 June when he was arrested, confirmed he no longer worked for the police.
