Murder charge over fatal stabbing in Blackburn alleyway

A man has been charged with murdering a man who died from stab wounds in a Lancashire alleyway.

Naeem Butt, 37, of Johnston Street, Blackburn, was charged following his arrest in Edinburgh on Wednesday.

Saheel Ahmed, 24, died in the early hours of 22 June in Blackburn.

Mr Butt appeared before Blackburn magistrates, who remanded him in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on Monday 12 July.

Mr Ahmed, who was married, was died near Warrington Street, Little Harwood, police said.
