Police investigating the theft of luggage from a train have issued CCTV images of a man and a woman they want to speak to.

The luggage, a grey Head sports bag, was stolen from a 19-year-old Devon woman between Bridgwater and Bristol Temple Meads train stations.

British Transport Police said the woman was travelling on the 1523 Plymouth to Leeds service on 16 February.

The bag contained hair straighteners, a Sony digital camera and new Ugg boots.

Pc Linda Carey-Harris said: "During the journey, the victim noticed a man and woman sitting by the luggage rack.

"The woman then sat next to the victim and engaged her in conversation, asking a number of questions including where she was travelling to.

"The woman then got up and returned to the man she had boarded with before returning on several separate occasions to sit and chat with the victim.

"The man and woman left the train when it arrived at Bristol Temple Meads and a short time later, the victim realised her bag was missing from the luggage rack."

The man police want to trace had a three-star tattoo on his neck and was wearing a white tracksuit top with a dark hood.

The woman had light brown or ginger hair and freckles, and was wearing a dark jacket with a fur collar.
