Three bikers hurt in two crashes in south Wales

Three motorcyclists have been injured in separate crashes in south Wales, say emergency services.

In the first incident two bikers were taken to hospital after a motorcycle was in collision with three cars.

It happened on the A465 at Hirwaun, Rhondda Cynon Taf at about 1700 BST on Saturday.

Later, another rider suffered severe head injuries after his motorbike left the road and went down an embankment in Pontsticill, Merthyr Tydfil.

The second incident happened at Pant Railway Station where crews from Merthyr Tydfil and Ebbw Vale were called to rescue the injured motorcyclist with a long board.

He was taken to hospital.

Crews from Aberdare and Merthyr Tydfil treated the motorcyclists injured in the earlier collision with first aid and oxygen therapy.

Both are believed to have suffered possible fractures.
