Crews tackle large fire at Hull waste centre

Firefighters have tackled a large blaze which erupted at a waste management centre in Hull.

Humberside Fire and Rescue Service said 40 tonnes of timber caught fire at Transwaste on Foster Street just before 2200 BST on Saturday.

A spokesman said at the height of the blaze, more than 30 firefighters were involved. Crews remain at the scene dampening down.

Investigations are taking place to establish the cause of the fire.
