Found body could be missing man from Bury St Edmunds

A body found in a field in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, could be that of a 38-year-old man who went missing from the town on Thursday.

Suffolk Police were called on Saturday afternoon after the body was found in a field next to Appledown Drive.

Police cordoned off the area while police conducted investigations and recovered the body.

Police are looking at the possibility that the body may be that of missing Bury St Edmunds man Shaun Alcock.

Police said the death was being treated as unexplained, but at this stage there are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances.

A post mortem examination will be conducted later.
