New moorings installed along Droitwich canal

Moorings are being installed along a Worcestershire canal due to be reopened later this year.

The moorings, both for permanent and temporary visitors, are being placed along the Droitwich Barge Canal.

A British Waterways spokesman said it meant Droitwich would welcome boats back to its canals for the first time in almost 70 years.

The project is part of an £11.5m scheme to reconnect the junction and barge canals with the national network.

The barge canal will open later this year and the junction canal will open next year.
