Teenager appears in court over soldier attack

A 17-year-old has appeared in court charged with attempted murder after a soldier was attacked while on home leave in Inverclyde.

Sean McLellan, of 1st Battalion The Scots Guards, was treated in hospital for stab wounds after the assault in Port Glasgow, last Sunday.

He had been on a night out to celebrate his 18th birthday.

Kevin Felgate, also known as Kevin Gisbey, appeared at Greenock Sheriff Court and was remanded in custody.

The teenager, who is from Port Glasgow, made no plea and no declaration at the hearing.
