Police officer arrested in Torquay over Class A drugs

A Devon and Cornwall police officer has been arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class A drug.

The officer was one of two people arrested on Friday evening at the Green Ginger public house in Torquay, Devon.

Devon and Cornwall Police said the serving officer was later released on bail, while the other, a member of the public, was released without charge.

The officer has been suspended and the force's professional standards department has been informed.
