Man faces Bangor sword murder bid charge

A 21-year-old man is due to appear at Bangor Magistrates Court charged with attempted murder in Downpatrick on Monday.

The charge relates to an incident in the Kennedy Square area when a man was attacked by a gang wielding swords, knives and sticks.

A 19-year-old man has been released unconditionally and a 28-year-old man remains in custody.

Police have re-issued an appeal for information about the attack.
