A decline in new orders for Chinese manufacturers
Manufacturing activity at Chinese factories was at its slowest in July for eight months as new orders, especially exports, declined.
China is trying to stoke up domestic demand, to offset the slowdown exporters are experiencing, especially from customers in Europe hit by the region's debt crisis.
