Olli Rehn: Ireland is EU's 'most pressing challenge'
The European Finance Commissioner, Olli Rehn, has said that preparations are being made for a potential rescue programme to bail out the Irish government in case the country asks for help.
Mr Rehn described the financial situation in Ireland as "our most pressing challenge of today" but is "certain that the Irish government will meet the necessary fiscal targets".
