Concern over impartiality of MPC report

A member of the Bank of England's Monetary Policy Committee has said he was concerned about support given by the committee for the government's plans to cut the budget deficit.

Adam Posen, under questioning by MPs on the Treasury Select Committee, said he and some colleagues had concerns over the impartiality of a statement in the report.

But he admitted this was a minority view.
