Easyjet paint job makes fuel bills less of a drag

EasyJet has announced that it is the first commercial airline to trial what it calls a "revolutionary nano-technology coating" on its aircraft aimed at reducing drag and increasing fuel efficiency.

The slippery layer put on top of the plane's existing paint weighs just 4 ounces, and could reduce the company's fuel bill by up to 2%, a saving of around £14m.

Richard Scott reports.
