Rich are getting richer says High Pay commission

The poor are always with us and so it seems are the rich. A report out on Monday shows the UK's top earners are taking home exactly the same slice of national income today as they did over 60 years ago.

The High Pay Commission added that unless steps are taken, the percentage of national income taken home by the top 0.1% of earners will more than treble by 2030 - creating levels of inequality not seen since Victorian times.

Deborah Hargreaves is Chair of the High Pay Commission and she told the BBC that the salary of the top earners should be capped.
