Christine Lagarde named IMF chief

French finance minister Christine Lagarde has been named as the new chief of the International Monetary Fund, the first woman to hold the post.

Ms Lagarde replaces Dominique Strauss-Kahn, who resigned last month after being arrested on charges of sexual assault, which he denies.

Michelle Fleury reports from Washington.
