US on edge as debt talks remain in deadlock

There is still deadlock between Republican and Democratic politicians in Washington over America's debt crisis, which is increasingly causing alarm elsewhere in the world.

The UK Business Secretary, Vince Cable, has blamed what he called "right wing nutters" for the lack of a deal, calling it a bigger risk to the global economy than the problems in the Eurozone.
