George Osborne promises more support for UK businesses
The Chancellor, George Osborne, has suggested that more support will be offered to businesses as the government tries to boost the UK economy.
In a speech to parliament, Mr Osborne said that the £75bn of quantitative easing he authorised was "the right response to the deterioration in the international situation". But he added that the government can do more domestically to help, such as "credit easing".
Mr Osborne is expected to outline more details in his his autumn statement on 29 November.
