GDP 'better than expected' says Osborne
The Chancellor, George Osborne, has welcomed figures showing the UK economy grew by 0.5% in the three months to September.
The Office for National Statistics said it followed growth of just 0.1% in the second quarter of the year, and GDP has now returned to the level it reached at the end of 2006.
Mr Osborne said the figures showed the government was on the right path.
