Sainsbury's chief on profits

Sainsbury's has announced profit before tax and one-off items rose 6.6% in the six months to the end of October and has put the rise down to new stores and demand for online and convenience shopping.

The supermarket's CEO, Justin King, says the outlook remains challenging because of rising energy costs and commodity prices, but the company is helping customers live well for less and doing the right thing by its customers.
