Rugby World Cup boosts New Zealand's economy

Latest figures show that New Zealand's economy, hit by a devastating earthquake earlier this year, was given an much-needed boost by September's rugby World Cup.

The sporting event injected hundreds of millions of dollars into the economy, helping to lift growth in the third quarter of 2011.

The economy expanded 0.8% in the three months to the end of September.

Greg Ward reports from Auckland.
