Cameron: Economic growth key to create new jobs
UK unemployment rose by 48,000 to 2.67 million in the three months to December, according to official figures.
Women made up two-thirds of the increase, and there was a new record in the number of people working part-time who wanted full-time jobs, the Office for National Statistics said.
Prime Minister David Cameron admitted that the figures were "disappointing", but said the government was committed to promoting economic growth and helping people get back to work.
