Northern Rock repays part of its government loan

The company that manages the toxic assets of Northern Rock and Bradford and Bingley has repaid £2bn to the Government.

Northern Rock Asset Management saw a rise in pre-tax profits from £191m in 2010 to £789m in 2011.

BBC Radio 5 live Breakfast asked Sean Rickard, an independent economic analyst, if NRAM was on target to repay its remaining £19.7bn debt.
