What will Apple do with spare $97bn?

Some say it has more cash on hand than the US government, and on Monday Apple will announce what it will do with its cash mountain.

Apple's hoard has grown rapidly in recent years, reaching $97bn dollars by the end of 2011.

It is now predicted to be well above $100bn.

Analysts expect Apple to give a dividend to its shareholders or possibly announce a share buy-back.

Lawrence Gosling, Editor in Chief of Investment Week told the BBC the company is "likely to give a quarterly dividend of about $2 a share"
