Consumer confidence slips in February
After showing signs of cautious optimism at the start of the year, consumer confidence slipped back in February, mainly because people are worried about their jobs.
The latest survey from Nationwide shows that there was an increase in the number of people describing their economic situation as bad.
Consumers are also cautious about buying big ticket items.
However, Robert Gardner, the chief economist at Nationwide told the BBC falling inflation "will help ease the squeeze on households".
