In-store credit buys on increase
An apparent side effect of the recession and a gloomy economic outlook is an increase in consumers using in-store credit to buy big-ticket items such as dishwashers and sofas.
Paying weekly or monthly instalments using financing provided by the shop can make such items more affordable when food and utility bills are rising - but purchasers should be wary of the forms of credit on offer.
