Better gym contracts for customers to be introduced

The Office of Fair Trading has been investigating gym companies because it suspected the contracts they offered were unfair and locked customers in.

Now three companies, Bannatyne, David Lloyd Leisure and Fitness First Clubs, have all said they are going to relax membership conditions and give customers better cancellation rights.

David Stalker, chief executive of trade body UK Active, told BBC Radio 5 live's Breakfast why gym contracts needed to be more customer friendly.
