Global markets 'choppy, nervous'
Shares in Japan closed higher at the end of volatile trading on Friday, in a partial recovery from the global sell-off in shares seen on Thursday.
The BBC spoke to David Jones, chief market strategist at IG, to find out his views on the current turmoil in world markets.
He suggested that uncertainty over the state of US economy was partly to blame for unsettling investors.
"Maybe for the next five days we'll have somewhat choppy, nervous markets", he added.
